Flamengo have announced that they have completed the signing of Adriano on a free transfer.
The powerful striker was unattached after leaving Corinthians earlier this year, and he has now agreed terms over a contract with the Flamengo until the end of 2012.
I now want to honour the Fla jersey again, which has always been mine, and score as many goals as possible. Thanks for everything and you can count on me, Adriano said.
The 30-year-old started his professional career with Flamengo, but left the club for Inter Milan in 2001, before enjoying success with Parma between 2002 and 2004.
He returned to Flamengo for the first time in 2009 after encountering problems with his weight, the death of his father and alcoholism, but left again to try his luck once more in Europe with Roma in 2010.
However, he failed to make an impact in the Italian capital and returned to his native country at Corinthians a year later, but his spell was marred by yet more off-field troubles.
Following his release by the Brazilian champions, the hitman will now be looking to relaunch his career once more at his boyhood club.
