Bally Bet will no longer be accepting wagers or deposits by the end of June 22, according to the operator, as it prepares for a transition to Kambi s sports betting platform.
User have until June 30 to withdraw any funds from their Bally Bet accounts ahead of the transition. If they do not withdraw funds by that date, the operator will mail checks to the customer s address on file.
Bally Bet customers will not be able to access their accounts after June 30.
Bally Bet Transitioning to Kambi Platform
Bally’s Corporation and Kambi a new multi-year partnership in May to redesign and expand Bally Bet throughout the country.
Under the terms of the partnership, Kambi will support the expansion and enhancement of Bally’s online and retail sportsbooks. It put an end to Bally’s attempt to create its own successful in-house sports betting product. According to partnership announcement, its expected that the new Bally Bet app will be live before the year is out.
According to the operator, customers in Arizona will not be affected by the transition and will still be able to access their Bally Bet apps as per usual.
All other customers will have to create new Bally Bet accounts when the operator comes back online before the year is out.
The Kambi sportsbook will replace Bally’s proprietary sports betting technology. Through an integration into the operator’s in-house date and marketing technology stacks, it will enable Bally’s to reduce fixed costs and drive engagement in its Bally Bet brand, according to the announcement.
The two companies also agreed to provide Bally’s with the option to acquire a license to a limited part of Kambi’s online and retail technology source code. If Bally’s exercises the option and pays an agree sum, the two companies would enter into a long-term outsourcing agreement in relation to Kambi’s range of modularized services.
Separately, Bally’s also entered into an agreement with White Hat Gaming, which will provide its player account management platform solution to the operator.
Bally Bet Looking for U.S. Sports Betting Foothold
Bally Bet was live in six U.S. states, but has yet to make much of an impact in any of the markets. Bally’s was able to procure an online sports betting license in , but was the last of the nine operators to launch.
Bally Bet launch in July 2022 in the Empire State and has only recorded $10.9 million in total handle and $646,939 in gross gaming revenue. Compare that to Resorts World, the second smallest operator in New York, that has notched $49.2 million in handle and $2.86 million in gross gaming revenue since July 2022.
The online sports betting operator is also live in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, and Virginia.
